This dramatic and spectacular sea cave is set into the limestone cliffs in Sutherland. Situated around a mile to the east of the town of Durness, the cave can be explored by boat or by the path from the car park on the cliffs. The cave boasts one of the largest entrances to any sea cave in Britain at 50 ft high and is floodlit inside. It was formed by a burn that runs down into the rear chamber, as well as erosion caused by the sea. A day tour worth seeing.

Here one can get a dramatic feeling of the great battle of Cullodon. This was the changing point for the Scots, where they were forbidden to speak the "Gallic" & wear tartans. Great museum there, which gives a good description. This place is also known from the series "Outlander"

The trip up A9 to Helmsdale is so scenic. Driving up through the strath of Hlemdale is gorgeous. This road goes all the way up to the north of Scotland. At Kinbrace one can take the road through Loth, backtrack to Helsdale or continue to the north. Be aware the road through Loth is a single track with very few passing places!! Stunning scenery never the less.
