Tips from locals
The Iron Age broch is located beside the A9 near Golspie not far from Dunrobin Castle to the north and has a car-park and information history board for visitors. The broch walls are very thick and approx, six feet in height with a short entrance passageway, steps and a small room.
This iron age broch lies roughly halfway between Golspie and Brora, just off the A9. The walls have been very well-preserved and at a height of 12ft, you can clearly see the layout to this day. This ancient sight is well worth the visit, bring the kids along to play in amongst the broch and spend the afternoon living in the iron age.
Great 5-10min stop just on the A9. There is a sign for parking and the Broch is across on the other side of the A9. A little gem many just drive past. Highly recommended.
This is the history of the area....a stunning place that transports the visitor back in time.
