Why locals recommend it
An old-school restaurant that has that local Mission feel-good vibe. There’s nothing more comforting than a big ol’ bowl of soup at San Jalisco surrounded by some of the friendliest Latino families in the neighborhood. Bring a relaxed attitude: The place gets busy, and the food can take a while, but it’s well worth it! I’m all about the soups here. Whether we’re talking menudo on the weekends or sopa de res during the week, you can always count on their soups to bring you back from the dead.

Tips from locals
Best chilaquiles in the neighborhood and open early! You're served tortilla chips and salsa the second you sit down (even if it's 8am) so this is a great place to cure a hangover.
