This rugged, rocky headland ten kilometres from Buenavista is the most westerly point on the island, and a great place to get away from the crowds and blow away the cobwebs with a bit of bracing sea air. Admire the active lighthouse perched precipitously on the rocks, or relax on the bay and enjoy stunning views of La Gomera, La palma and the Teno Mountains. A word of warning: Check the forecast before you go as the road there is closed in bad weather.

NW-Tip of the island. Very scenic road and amazing moonscape once you get there. Ask if road is open before venturing there.
Punta de Teno is located inside the Rural Reserve of Teno, at the north-west part of the island. To get to this places you have to go through Buenavista del Norte, a town full of banana plantations, colonial architecture and green mountains, that represents without a doubt a typical Canary Village. Punta de Teno counts with a small and quiet natural stones beach, perfect for a picnic day.

Absolutely beautiful place to visit. You can either hike there and leave the car at the entrance or drive there directly (You need to check times, otherwise you may get a fine). There is a beautiful landscape with lots of cactuses, from which you can eat the fruits. Here you can see the lighthouse, the landscape and enjoy the beach. If you like to climb there are two places you can go to. In both places, if you fall, you fall into the water. But because of the currents in the water, you should not go alone. Difficulty: hard, Coordinates: 28.339444, -16.910828 Difficulty: beginners to advanced, Coordinates: 28.340287, -16.912242 It is not easy to get here. You will have to go to the end of the footpath. Then walk down very careful to walk to both places. There are no signs, and it is not a tourist place. I only give this recommendation to people who have climbed before and do swim very well.
