Hike the trip around this small but beautiful reservoir. Just minutes form the cottage. It's free to get in but parking is tight if you go mid-day. Early in the day is best,

AMAZING hiking all around this area but my favorite trail is to park in the small lot at the bottom parking area (it is actually the *only* parking area!) and go up to the lake/reservoir. There is a relatively flat trail (part sun & part shade) that goes all the way around the lake and it is amazing. Very very pretty.

Our local park in next door Ross offers access to dozens of trailheads, both hiking and bike routes. The parking lot is small and you may have to wait in line for a space. If there's a line up of waiting cars be patient, it doesn't take too long for a space to open up. To avoid the wait altogether, we often have our daughter drop us off at the park and we hike home from there. The park is about a 5 minute drive from 274 Oak.
