Why locals recommend it
This rooftop bar is on top of a multi-storey car park. (Other floors often are used for gigs and exhibitions by Bold Tendencies collective nonprofit arts group.) The vibe is quite rough and ready, but it’s really relaxed and a great place to have drinks with a view. In good weather, Frank’s is without doubt the best outdoor bar in the city. It’s only open from May to September. I highly recommend arriving right when it opens (5 pm weekdays, 11 am weekends) to get a good spot for the views and avoid a long wait for a drink. Order the negroni and soak up the summer atmosphere.

Tips from locals
Great place to watch a sunset. Views over London. Good on a sunny day, can be a bit cold if windy. Also cool art at Bold Tendancies.
Raising a glass is always easier when you’re already on a roof. And visiting Frank’s – one of the original carpark roof bars, and a firm fixture on any London bucket list – means that said glass will be filled with Italian cocktails like Negronis and Aperol spritzes. Though usually not at the same time.
A rooftop bar that offers stunning panoramic views of the London skyline from an alternative perspective south of the river, Frank’s Café is the perfect place to sip on beer, wine or cocktails on a warm, sunny summer evening in the capital.
