Why locals recommend it
As soon as you pass through the gates here, you’ll feel an immediate energy shift. Located in the bustling CBD, it’s bordered on one side by towering skyscrapers and on the other by the harbour’s glistening waters and offers 30 hectares of manicured gardens for meditation and contemplation. To find a spot away from the city’s lunchtime joggers, you’ll need to walk deep into the garden away from the city. Down by the herb garden you can find a comfortable chair and a quiet nook, and you can meditate while surrounded by great-smelling herbs.

Tips from locals
Get some picnic supplies from Woolworths (one block away) and then wander over to the Royal Botanic Gardens and join the Sydneysiders picnicking by the water. And don't forget to check out the Succulent Garden! It's one of my favourite parts of the Royal Botanic Gardens.
Lush and beautiful. One of Sydney’s best (must see!) attractions and one of the most amazing botanic gardens in the world…harbor, opera house and city views included.
The Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney is a heritage-listed major 30-hectare botanical garden, event venue and public recreation area located at Farm Cove on the eastern fringe of the Sydney central business district, in the City of Sydney local government area of New South Wales, Australia.
