Tips from locals
Oldest winery in the hunter valley! Perched on the top of a hill along Broke Road, where you have a wonderful view of the mountains and vines. They have picnic tables and plenty of space if you wish to stop a picnic during your day out. (Please keep in mind they do not have a cafe or restaurant onsite.)
Steeped in heritage and tradition, their historic cellar door is a joy to visit and to try their award winning wines. Book a tour to experience the old oak vats and historic red cellar still in operation. See the original iron bark hut that Edward Tyrrell lived in and the Short Flat Vineyard with its vines first planted in 1923.
