Formerly a chalk quarry for the adjoining, now defunct, cement works, this is an internationally recognised nature reserve managed by the Bucks, Berks and Oxon Wildlife trusts with interpretation centre and cafe. A short drive away. Within walking distance, from either Westfield Road or Church Road Pitstone is Quarry 1 Local Nature Reserve, abundant with orchids and blue butterflies.
