Tips from locals
Beautiful quiet park on the ocean, perfect for picnicking, frisbee-throwing, or sneaking down to the beach (look for the hidden stairway).
This is a great place to watch the fireworks if you don't like crowds. Although there will still be people. You can grab some pizza from Nats New York Pizzeria and cruise on down.
Along Point Grey Road you'll find several spots that allow you to access the public beaches (all beaches in Vancouver are public). Volunteer Park is one such access point.
So close, 10 minute stroll to this great park. Beautiful views. Bring a picnic in summer perhaps. Tennis Raquets for public courts nearby at Tatlow Park. Watch the boats go by. Spot an eagle or other seabird. Access the beach.
