Hayfield village is based at the foot of Kinder where many different paths lead you up to the amazing views of kinder downfall. Look at the OS map we provide for walking routes. Good hill walking footwear and clothing are required for the changing weather conditions.
For more seasoned walkers, we can advise you of routes to the famous downfall.
This can be spectacular at times if there is a large volume of water coming off the plateau and there is a strong south-westerly wind blowing, as spray will be start to go back over Kinder Scout! The Kinder Downfall can also be climbed in winter to provide some good sport. A selection of ice screws and a good freeze are required. Red Brook can also provide a good outing which in appropriate conditions banks out well to provide a snow, rather than an ice climb.
