The old statin tea rooms is as its name suggests its the site of the old train station that used to run through the forest. serving breakfast, lunch and cakes is a perfect stop after a long walk in the forest. With on site parking and inside and outdoor seating its somewhere we like to visit for a cup of tea and slice of cake.
Start here with a tea, then walk all the way to Burley along the old disused railway line. Grab lunch there, walk back and have a lovely beer before home. If your feet are sore, pop across the road and dabble barefoot in the stream on the edge of the forest. One of my dog walk haunts.
The Old Station Tea Rooms at Holmsley is a fun quirky tea rooms with excellent family friendly food. It is a 20 minute drive away and perfect for dog walkers, walkers and cyclists as it is situated at the end of the old railway line (now a flat cycle path) from Burley. There are also forest walks in this area ask for directions to the cycle path towards Burley from the tea rooms.
