Airlie Beach, QLD
Tips from locals
Man-made beach located a short walk from the Airlie main street. It is the only beach in Airlie that has a swimming enclosure (recommended for the stinger season from November to May).
Beach with swimming enclosure, just 5 minutes walk from the centre of Airlie. Gorgeous beach, never too busy and has the added advantage of a stinger net to give that extra level of protection
Situated on the peninsula near the Port of Airlie (access via Coconut Grove/The Beacons) and boasts 60,000 cubic metres of soft, white sand. The area's first true all-tide beach, Boathaven Beach is a lovely spot for swimming, sunbathing and lapping up the views of the ocean and islands, including a stinger net for the summer months.
Cruise down there after lunch with your frisbees, blankets, books and sunscreen and spend the afternoon on a lovely beach. It's lovely, quiet and a short walk past the local Sailing Club.
