Tips from locals
Stroll along the jagged rocky coastline and visit the historic Beavertail Lighthouse Museum
A beautiful state park right on the water, with huge rocks for climbing and coves for exploring and swimming (be mindful of the tides!). There are trails filled with bunnies, a lighthouse and a tiny aquarium that never seems to be open.
Off the beaten path, private rocky nooks to sit and relax, bring a picnic, swim...
This *very rocky* beach is like no other and absolutely worth a picnic day trip. It is like a view from a Japanese watercolor painting.
