After the Vietnam war, many Vietnamese who had worked with Americans settled in the DC area, notably around Arlington. Holy Martyrs of Vietnam, one block away, is Northern Virginia's Vietnamese Catholic church. Multiple masses on the weekends said in Vietnamese. Very active community (youth groups, boy scouts, choir groups, senior groups, etc) with a full range of ages represented. The community is conservative and perhaps unwelcoming to non-Vietnamese, but on holiday evenings events take place outdoors among sidewalk shrines and throughout the parking lot. If you hear singing, that's probably the source, and their bells toll at 7 minutes before the hour throughout the day. If church isn't your thing but Vietnamese food is, Eden Center at 6751 Wilson Blvd, Falls Church, VA 22044 is a 10-minute drive away. Myriad shops selling wonderful food, and the biggest Chinese Grocery ever.
