Treborth gardens, just over the bridge, is a great place to take your dog. You go over the Menai Bridge and turn right (before the Antelope Pub). Go down the road towards the gardens and when you see cars parked on the left, stop and park. The path is directly to the right and takes you along the Menai Straits, under Britannia Bridge and further (possibly as far as Caernarfon). You can also walk in the gardens.

The garden was laid out with Cascade, Lime Avenue, and other features, to the design of Sir Joseph Paxton of Crystal Palace fame. It was to be part of Britannia Park, a Victorian extravaganza with Grand Hotel, conservatories and station on the main railway line. But due to funding problems, the whole scheme was abandoned and the site reverted to pasture and woodland.
