Why locals recommend it
A few stretches of bike path have opened along the LA River. They hope to connect them all someday, but for now this 7 ½-mile stretch, usually called Glendale Narrows, is one of the nicest parts. It’s a little nature getaway, very peaceful and serene, but urban. Along the way, you may see art pieces like a giant rubber ducky floating in the river. If you’d like to make the ride a bit longer, at Griffith Park connect to the nine-mile loop around the park. Check out the old abandoned LA zoo, or if you’re up for some major hill climbing, bike to the top, and see the Hollywood sign and a bit of nature.
