Nice and quite easy walk. Drive until Colle,(20 minute from Vignone) then start to walk following the signal to Monte Spalavera. in 1 hour approximately you will reach the top of the mountain with a beautiful view on the lake and the mountains all around.
In just under an hour's walk, Monte Spalavera will offer you a wonderful view of the other peaks of the area and Lake Maggiore. This walk is ideal both in summer and during spring and autumn. From Mount Spalavera you can also enjoy a splendid view of the Swiss shore of Lake Maggiore. Mount Spalavera can be reached by crossing a section of the Cadorna line, a military road built during the First World War. The path, designed by General Luigi Cadorna was intended to protect Italian territory from possible attacks across the Alps during the First World War. How to get there? The path starts from Alpe Colle. To get to Colle da Verbania just follow the signs for Vignone, Premeno (from which it is easy to get to one of the most beautiful panoramic points on the lake) and reach Piancavallo. Those who decide to reach the beginning of the path by car can park directly at Alpe Colle.
