Southend Pier is one of my favourite places to go and I would highly recommend it. The pier is the longest pleasure pier in the world and is 1.33 miles long. You can either walk it or get on the tram, and if you are into wildlife you may be lucky enough to see a seal or two! There are places to grab a coffee and food at the end of the pier. Opening times vary depending on the season so definitely check.

Have a lovely five mile walk along the sea front from old Leigh beach to outhend pier, have a icecream then take the mini train to the end of the longest pier in the world.
The longest Pleasure pier in the world is on our doorstep. A short walk can take you down to the pier museum. You can ride the train to the end or walk.
The world's longest peer! With a Jamie Oliver restaurant on it. Trains operate up and down the pier throughout the day.
