Why locals recommend it
Old Street Underground Station is a great jumping-off point for a loop around the City of London, the historic and financial heart of the capital. Architecture fans will appreciate the rickety medieval churches and gleaming glass skyscrapers. Do not attempt this ride on a weekday, as you’ll be crowded out by people in suits with their ears glued to phones. Start at the dock by Old Street Station, and ride south down City Road before heading right at Bank, then right again on Wood Street. Keep heading in this direction and you’ll find yourself back at Old Street.
