Tips from locals
Feed the ducks on the lake, walk around the park, use the outdoor gym equipment, then have an amazing scone in the cafe.
Fabulous walks, a good pub selling reasonably priced food, a couple of cafes on site too.
A sizeable park with play areas suitable for different ages from an assault course type area to a toddler area near to the visitors centre. There is a lovely cafe at the visitor centre and also the Nutbroof coffee shop is within 15-30 minutes walk of the park along many of the walking and cycling trails that traverse the park. There is also a pond and a reservoir (both which allow fishing with the appropriate permits). There is paking (paid) both at the Mapperley Reservoir (via Mapperley village) entrance and the Heanor Gate entrance near the visitors centre. The park often also hosts events in the summer.
