Hellnar is a tiny place, down by the sea. If you drive past the hotel accomodation and toward the beach, there is a parking lot and you can walk down to the sea. There is a small and charming café called Fjöruhúsið (the beach house) that sells soup, bread, cakes, waffels, coffe and drinks. It has a beautiful veranda and amazing view over the sea, bird cliffs and beach. There are walking paths to Arnarstapi that are also very nice and not difficult (about 2 km) so you could also park there and walk.

Right down at the harbour at Hellnar is Fjöruhúsið. Surrounded by the rocky bird cliffs, right under the Snæfells glacier. The cosy café seats two dozen inside but, on a sunny day, it is the outside seating that is always filled, as walkers take a rest and imbibe the beauty of the surroundings whilst enjoying a delicious snack or lunch. Open from Easter to October, the little family café provides seafood soup, homemade bread, vegetable or chicken quiche, pasta, waffles, a range of delicious cakes and drinks of all kinds, all with friendly service.
