The Cafe and General store is great for breakfast, lunch and dessert! It has been in continuous operation as a general store since the 1890s!

This wonderfully preserved general store is a must. The drive is amazingly beautiful with canopied trees covering the winding Mulberry River road. The food is fantastic!

The Oark General Store and Cafe’, listed in the Arkansas Register of Historic Places, was opened in 1890 in response to demand for grocery and supplies in the isolated community of Oark, in northern Johnson County. It has the distinct recognition of being the oldest continually operated store in Arkansas. In the last twenty years the store has transitioned to a full-service restaurant.
