If they are having a jazz concert, it will be old timers doing jazz that is well worth a visit. Definitely take Uber/Lyft directly to the front door-- this area can be shady.

It’s especially great if you want to get a better idea of how important San Francisco was to the LGBT rights movement. If you’re looking for non-touristy things to do in San Francisco, you should explore as much of the Tenderloin District as you can.

Its really clean, modern Tenderloin history museum. Very small but very modern. Admission fee is about $10. Around there is dirty and many homeless.
