The coolest theater in the San Francisco Bay Area isn't in the Bay Area: it's actually located in the mighty town of Pt. Arena just about a 25 minute drive from Sea Ranch. Here you'll find a is a 1928-vintage vaudeville theater where a collection of celluloid heroes have spiffed a little gem of movie-dom. Restored in 1996 to an Art Deco style, state-of-the-art entertainment venue. At $8 a ticket, it's worth saving a movie night during your escape from the big city. Real butter on the popcorn, brewer's yeast, balcony seating, comfy chairs, nice staff, absolutely impeccably clean restrooms....what's not to like? You can also top it off with a full night out afterwards by heading over for a bite to eat at Uneeda Eat right next door! And there is a family movie night deal on Sunday's, such a deal!

First showing movies, live music. Within walking distance of BBP.
This lovely little one-screen movie house/live theater in Point Arena was a real labor of love, refurbished by local artisans! Restored back in '97, it has held it's place on the coast with live theater, community talent shows, live music concerts (with well known names!), telecasting "Live at the Met" series, and weekly movie runs (films are usually about a month old). Take a peek at their schedule after you book Barking Rocks Cottage... there just may be an event you don't want to miss! Ticket prices are reasonable, seats are comfortable, and the popcorn & community vibe can't be beat. The theater is about 15 minutes north of Barking Rocks Cottage.
