Tips from locals
Enjoy a picnic by the sea off the cliffs at Smugglers Cove. Visit the old Rum Running cove where they hid the alcohol during the prohibition.
Walkways in Smugglers Cove Provincial Park lead to great bluff-top views of the coast and down tree-lined steps to the shoreline. The coastal cliffs are notched with caves said to be used by prohibition rum runners. An ideal place to stop for a picnic lunch.
This little park is a great place to spend some time at low tide , rumour has it the cave was used as storage by smugglers and pirates.
