The Warracknabeal Post Office was constructed in1906-07 to the design of the Victorian Public Works Department architect Samuel Bindley. The two storeyed building is constructed in the English Domestic Revival style and features face brickwork to the ground floor level and half timbering to the upper storey. The elaborately ornamented exterior features heavily ribbed chimneys. The postmaster's quarters which, with four large bedrooms, an elegant drawing room, living room, dining room and kitchen, is one of the grandest postal residences in Victoria. The postal chamber is by comparison quite modest and has been extensively altered over the years although it has retained its pressed metal ceiling. An addition to the south was made in 1912-13 to house the telegraph office.
