Natural attractions include bird watching, fishing, nature viewing, swimming, surfing, beachcombing, and shelling. Quintana Beach also boasts a unique and colorful history. The site of Fort Bates (1862), the remains of the Freeport Harbor Defense during WWII (1942), and two historically significant houses are located inside the park.
