Tips from locals
There are two highlights to this museum, the huge Southern Right skeleton hanging in Whale House and the De Wets Photo Museum just opposite. These and the Old Harbour Museum are all part of the same complex and the inexpensive entry fee covers visits to all three. History buffs will especially enjoy the photo museum which has a large number of photo's of the town and it's activities (fishing), from the late 1800's and early 1900's. This is thanks to the fact that Ravenscroft, one of the countries first photographers, lived in Hermanus and made it a subject of his work.

Very interesting museum with life-size skeleton of a whale and interactive screens for information about whales and other marine species
