Tips from locals
Not far and really cool. This includes a hike up the side of a mountain on a twisting paved path (not for the elderly or anybody pushing a stroller). Watch your head. This is a good half day activity when staying in Park City.
These caves are so cool! You do not want to miss this hike. It is a bit challenging but it is a very well groomed trail.
Spelunk Timpanogos Cave. A national monument, Timpanogos Cave has ranger-led tours that take place after a steep 1.5 mile hike and often sell out, so book early. The climb is worth it; the wondrous Timp Cave, an ancient cavern with stunning crystals called "frostwork" and the requisite stalactites and stalagmites live up to its monument status. TIP: Explore the Alpine Loop-- a scenic byway near Mount Tim and one of the best places to enjoy the fall colors in Utah.
