Puu Jih Shih Temple is a Buddhist temple located at the hilltop of Tanah Merah at Sandakan Bay in Sandakan, Sabah, Malaysia. The temple was built in 1987. It is the largest Chinese temple for the town.
Go in the morning, this temple is on top of the hill, and the air is cool and comfortable.
Arguably the best temple in Sabah with a magnicifient view of the entire Sandakan Bay. The temple itself is nothing sort of a grandeur with its 3 Buddha statues and dragons coiling the pillars inside the temple. The temple was renovated in 2017 and everything inside the temple look new and fresh. A new pagoda is in the midst of construction but it will be a fe more year before you can climb up the stairs to check out the pagoda.
