Tips from locals
The Roman theater of Catania is located in Via Vittorio Emanuele II. Its current appearance dates back to the second century and was brought to light from the end of the nineteenth century. To the east it borders a minor theater, called the Odeon. (5 min walking)
It's impossible to see it from the street, you need to enter. The ticket price is very cheap though. This beautiful roman theatre survived for Centuries and despite eruptions, earthquakes and wars it's still there showing off its magnificence. In May it hosts shows and concerts.
Roman Theater of Rome, a real piece of history among the buildings of Catania (every day 9: 00-19: 00; full € 6.00, reduced € 3.00).
There’s not much left of it today, but if you have time, go have a look at the Roman Theatre, next to Piazza del Duomo. You will be surprised by its architecture and vaults. Seeing it there, standing in the middle of modern buildings is quite surprising!
