Perched on the east side of the bay, El Castillo del Morro has unique postcard-ready panoramic views looking back at the city. This was once a castle the English occupied when they invaded Cuba in the 18th century. Later it became a prison. Today it’s a museum, open for all to see. You don’t need to buy a ticket to the museum to enjoy the sunset from here. There’s usually a drink cart at the entrance, which stays open late, where you can buy a piña colada or guarapo, juice of the sugar cane, to enjoy while you take in the view.
