Tips from locals
Stonehurst is a historic estate just down the road from us. It has 130 acres, full of trails, a museum and even a branch of the Waltham Public Library! They are also well known as a go to wedding venue.
Stonehurst, the country place of social reformer Robert Treat Paine and his family, is a masterpiece of integrated design crowning the career-long collaboration of two visionaries, architect Henry Hobson Richardson and landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, whose work continues to inspire culturally and environmentally sensitive design. Invisible from the street, Stonehurst sits on a secluded hilltop site amidst 109 acres of conservation land. Office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 – 4:30. General admission $3. Grounds are open year round, sunrise to sunset.
