Tips from locals
It has a walled town, lovely old buildings and lots of shops and restaurants, including great ice-cream shops. Also the third biggest fishing port in France, great for fresh shellfish. Shopping, lots of restaurants, indoor market daily market plus a weekly outdoor market. In the summer lots of festivals and events.
Concarneau - is famous for its ‘Ville Close’, the oldest part of the town that was fortified in the 1300s and is connected to the mainland by a bridge. Here, you can wander along the cobbled streets with timbered houses and a good selection of restaurants. Step up onto the ramparts and you’ll be able to watch the fishing port and marina.
