The Stony Brook Grist Mill was originally built in 1699 but was destroyed by a flood, the victims of which still haunt the place. In 1751, it was rebuilt in its current location. It is across from the Mill Pond (also called the Duck Pond). You can buy duck food at the local gas station or Fratelli's. The mill was an important part of Stony Brook life. Across the street is the Mill Pond (locals call it the "Duck Pond" and you can buy duck food at the gas station on Main Street on the Village Green.)
