Tips from locals
Check out the art and history then stroll behind the building for a tiny public garden hidden in the center of town. You can also check out the visitors’ center across from the RR Smith building, grab a sandwich at Cranberry’s, and sit in the garden making a plan of what to see or do next!
The R.R. Smith Center for History and Art includes galleries, classrooms, archives, conference space, a garden, and offices for non-profit cultural organizations. Located in Staunton’s Beverley Historic District, the building is an 1894 hotel designed in the French Second Empire style by Staunton architect, T.J. Collins.
