Tips from locals
Cherokee Park's main feature is the 2.3-mile Scenic Loop, with separate lanes for vehicle traffic (one-way) and recreational users. One of the original parks designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the park provides a pastoral setting amid rolling hills, open meadows and woodlands of the Beargrass Creek valley.
This treasure is an Olmstead park (also the creator of Central Park in NYC). We have several beautiful parks but this is definitely my favorite! Bring an ENO and a blanket and a book and pick up some picnic fare from Lotsa Pasta or Blue Dog Bakery. You won’t regret it!
