Why locals recommend it
An informal joint that’s been around for nearly 30 years, they’re located on a service lane where people travel in and out of the city. You’ll see people coming and going from all over the country, and they serve great choma here in the most traditional way. Some restaurants serve fries on the side with the meat, but not here. They keep it simple. Try the spicy soup—it’s a hot broth made from the bones of the nyama choma cuts—and the tumbukiza. The direct translation is “to dip into,” and for this dish they throw the meat into a pot and stew it for several hours with potatoes, carrots, and tomatoes.
