History dating back to 1421, first open to the public in 1961 it focused on animals found in the mountains but is now home to 140 species

Not only a very nice zoo with lots of animals, but also a huge park with playgrounds, meadows and ponds. Great place to relax and play in the summertime.

I really like this zoo. Nestled in a great mountain landscape, you get very close to the animals. Even when the weather is not so good, there are things to see, like the reptile house. You can walk around for almost as long as you want. The important thing to know is: In addition to the zoo, you can then also go to the park of Hellbrunn Palace. Here you can, for example, eat quite well, watch water games and also take long walks. Especially for children super, because there is also a huge playground in the park. On weekends and in high season, however, is sometimes really very much, sometimes even too much going on.

unique setting for a zoo, not as big as san diego, yet very spirited between the rocks
