Tips from locals
Wide variety of coffees, pastries and a gathering place for one of the most diverse communities in the United States.
Refuge Coffee is an essential stop if this is your first time visiting Clarkston. They provide job training to former refugees and the coffee shop serves as a gathering place for the community. You might even run into our mayor there, Ted Terry!
Refuge Coffee is in the center of the city and is the local gathering place for everyone from students working on homework to one of the Mayor's favorite places to meet! People from all over the world tend to gather here for a chance to chat with a delicious cup of coffee.
Not within walking distance, you'll need to drive. But...it supports such a great cause and is run by a hard working team. Just all around goodness. Also, did you know Clarkston is noted for its ethnic diversity, and is often referred to as "the most diverse square mile in America" and "the Ellis Island of the South."
