Tips from locals
Have a kayak? Or want to wander a decent sized patch of woods for a few hours? Stinchcomb is a great place to do so! Water access is easy (must have city permit to take kayak out on water tho!) and the woods are a neat place to explore and see deer and other wildlife.
This is a nature reserve on the west side of town. It is basically acres of scrubby cedars and tall grasses surrounding a lake bed that is alternately dry or full of water depending on the time of year and how much rain we've had. One can hike or bike the dirt road that circumvents the perimeter of the property.
