All of our guests rave about this historic, cosy pub. Situated in the scenic village of Newland, The Ostrich Inn is renowned for its excellent food and is listed in all the leading Pub guides. Delicious home cooked food with an excellent selection of beers, wines and 8 ales on tap, coupled with friendly staff, laid back atmosphere and a warm welcome.....what more is there to say....you may want to book a table in advance (especially at the weekends :)) Opening times: 12 noon to 2.30 pm and from 6.30 pm to 11.00 pm Mon - Sun

Can't fault this village pub with such an amazing menu. Opposite All Saints Church, traditionally and affectionately known as the Cathedral of the Forest, dates back to the early 1200s.

The Ostrich Inn, a lovely scenic old pub situated in Newland, is set in the middle of Newland village opposite the church and is thought to have taken its name from the Ostrich emblem used by the Probyns, the local landowners in previous centuries. The Ostrich Inn is a free house renowned for its delicious home-made dishes. As well as the intimate restaurant and welcoming bar, in the summer months visitors can also relax on the outdoor patios and in the large walled garden at the back. It offers a great selection of local cider and ales, and is dog and family friendly.
