You’ve been to the zoo. You’ve been to the aquarium. What if you still haven’t had your fix of nature’s coolest creatures? Take a trip to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. Covering almost 2,000 acres, it’s one of the largest wildlife preserves in all of California, and it’s teeming with lions, rhinos, antelopes, giraffes and everything else that you’d expect to see on a real safari. The Lion Camp is probably the biggest draw of the park, but there’s also a Tiger Trail and a Gorilla Forest. Additional enclosures house everything from birds to lizards. If you love animals, the San Diego Zoo Safari Park is the best place to visit for wildlife observation in San Diego. It might even be better than the zoo and the aquarium since it’s so much larger! You’ll have tons of fun here, and if you pay attention to the informational exhibits, you might just learn something as well. Address: 15500 San Pasqual Valley Rd, Escondido, CA 92027, United States
