Perfect for dog walking or just getting into nature. Easy to get lost if you have no sense of direction! It's abit of countryside within the city.
There are a number of ways you can get onto the nature reserve, we find the easiest is to access it via Brookburn rd, just off from Beech rd. This is a great place to wonder along the river Ees which joins up with the River Mersey. Great place to go for a jog or walk with the dog.
Between here and Liverpool, the River Mersey changes considerably. Look out for Herons, and other wildlife, but mostly joggers, and people walking dogs!
This nature reserve can be accessed from the bottom of Beech Road, just opposite the Bowling Green pub. Lovely riverside walk which branches out for miles in either direction along the River Mersey. Be sure to visit Jackson's Boat pub (bicycle hire also available from near here) for refreshments, or Sale Water Park (5 - 10 minutes further walk).
