Tips from locals
Park at Crescent Moon Park ($8 fee). Walk east along Oak Creek as close as possible to the base of Cathedral Rock. Look for twisted Juniper trees where the vortex energy is strongest.
GREAT views of Cathedral Rock above Oak Creek, the perfect place to go and cool down with swimming during our hot summers, really a MUST in hot weather. Also you can hike to Cathedral Rock Vortex here too.
1 hour away- crowded with swimmers on the weekends. Must pay to park $13 per car
Red Rock Crossing at Crescent Moon Ranch is a great local hike at base of Chapel Rock/ Oak Creek. Headi North on 89A turn right on Red Rock Crossing Rd and follow signs!. Great to see the old time Sedona Ranch Style living, the Vortex, Picnic area, Hiking, & swimming holes all rolled into one. For a more private beach, make the 40 min walk to Buddha Beach which is right at the base of Chapel Rock, you will feel a stronger vortex vibe here with lots of carin's (stacked rocks). In warmer months make sure you arrive early as the park fills up fast and there will be restricted access to cars when full. If you look close in the trees you maybe able to spot a Chuckwalla (Iguana Family).
