"Historic circa-1835 mint turned museum with coin exhibits & an upper-level jazz venue."
We have a National Park in New Orleans and it focuses on Jazz. The Jazz Museum at the Old U.S. Mint under the live oaks of Esplanade Avenue and across from Frenchmen Street, has an amazing performance space on the third floor and park rangers who are master musicians who build a calendar of free daytime programming featuring New Orleans best musicians. I wish I could play hookie from work and catch some of their weekday, afternoon and early evening programming.

It is very cool to walk through the museum to see where money was made. Also has cultural events here. I volunteer at the Satchimo Festival and French Quarter Festival here.
Who doesn't like to see money?! And if you need more reason to visit, check out the Louis Armstrong exhibit
