The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, located near the historic Water Tower, is one of the nation’s largest multidisciplinary museums devoted to the art of our time. With an international reputation for groundbreaking exhibitions, performances, collections, and programs, the MCA presents the latest in cutting-edge, contemporary culture.
One of the world’s largest contemporary art venues. This museum was established in 1967 and is devoted to featuring current and innovative works of art that reflect today’s culture. The museum has a very sleek and modern exterior and the inside boasts a spectacularly modern staircase. The artwork here is uniquely captivating, but may not be for those with more traditional taste (who would probably enjoy the art institute of Chicago more).

Leaning on the provocative contemporary art and culture, MCA features new exhibitions every month ranging from all sort of different arts from around the world.
My favorite art museum in Chicago. Great contemporary shows. Cute little cafe in the ground floor. Free music on the garden on Tuesdays. Free admission with an Illinois zip code on Tuesdays.
Awesome exhibits. Can be crowded or noisy during the middle of the day, but its a great place to go to early or later if possible. They also have a great coffee and tea bar, a restaurant (although pricey and sometimes slow service during peak hours) and a place where you can listen to live music.
