The Chapel

Why locals recommend it
One of the newer San Francisco venues, the Chapel is also one of the most beautiful. It’s a big-feeling space with lots of side rooms, a restaurant, second bar, and upstairs area. There’s a new sound system and good lighting. Don’t let its slightly fancy feeling fool you, the shows can get pretty rowdy depending on who’s playing. If you order drinks at any of the bars and leave your tab open, you can order off the same tab from any of the other bars. So if a line is too long, just look for a shorter one!

Tips from locals
Nightly live-music performances in a converted ex-chapel. Really cool venue! Check out their website for performances
Originally built in 1914 as a mortuary, it has been converted to a music venue with mezzanine, while the rest of the building has been remodeled with a restaurant, The Vestry, which includes an outdoor dining patio.
