The Old Port is great for exploring Portland's old cobblestone streets, the working waterfront, and lots of local shops and restaurants. You can spend the whole day exploring here! About a 15 minute walk from us, or 5 minute Uber.
This is the heart of Portland. Lots of shops, restaurants and bars. Definitely make an afternoon/evening or day of it! Exchange street, Middle Street, Fore Street and Commercial Street are where most of the action is located! Local favorites include: Fore Street Restaurant, Scales or Miyaki are great for special occasions (make a rez in advance). For Oysters, Eventide. Other must-dos include: Standard Bakery for croissants & breads, Sichuan Kitchen for authentic Chinese food, Mimi & Blanche for small gifts/finds. Venture up Congress street to a Maine Art Museum, Flea-for-All.
